My life in Taikoo Place

Every morning I leave home 15 minutes earlier, take three MTR lines, walk the two longest MTR tunnels (at HK and Quarry Bay station). The dock-dock high heel noise at HK station drives me crazy. The train is full at this time. Passengers hurry to meet 9:30. It is not relaxing to have a seat. Given the cold front several days before, people wear thick coats, and squeezing six in-a-row is shoulder-to-shoulder. Sometimes it is not even able to read, as the Tung Chung Line train is packed. The TC Line is never so crowded 15 minutes later, when the tide is gone.

Taikoo place is metal, glass and granite, the modern look I don't prefer. A queue for lifts is often formed at the tower next to mine. My colleague said PCCW offices are always like that. My Central office is on ground floor, so a lift queue is quite a scene for me. My space in Taikoo Place office is large and better lit. I like the furniture here more than that in Central. Everyone complains of the chairs in Central as they are too big to be comfortable. I no longer sit close to the main entrance, so there is less distraction.

And, OLs in Taikoo Place look nicer! They are younger than those in Central. This is very good.
